I was more concerned by the later shooting of an innocent man. Especially as I was worried by the circumstance when it was first reported (and there was yet no spin from anyone suggesting he was utterly innocent). There is no way the Police should be shooting anyone who is not firing at them or the public. There are much more effective ways to restrain someone if they did indeed have a device on them.

Exactly. Particularly as it later turned out that the poor guy was on the ground (therefore immobilised) before he was actually shot.
